NPL – 02 Kathmandu Valley & Suburb
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu
Day 02: Visit Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath, Pashupatinath & Boudhanath. Drive to Nagarkot
Day 03: Drive Nagarkot to Dhulikhel on the way visit Bhaktapur City,.
Day 04: Visit Banepa and Panauti and drive to Kathmandu
Day 05: Visit Patan City, Tibetan Handicraft Center, villages of Bungamati & Khokana
Day 06: Departure from Kathmandu

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu. On arrival, you will be meeting by a representative to provide you with your airport transfer to your Hotel. The balance of the day is at leisure to explore the city known as Kantipur, the capital of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal.
Overnight at Hotel.
Day 02: Visit Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath, Pashupatinath and Boudhanath.

Drive to Nagarkot (32 km, 30 mins approx.)

Kathmandu City: The capital of Nepal, is also known as Kantipur. It is named after Kasthamandap, an imposing Pagoda near Hanuman Dhoka Palace. Kasthamandap, supposed to be made from a single tree, along with Durbar Square is one of the ancient places of Nepal.

Swayambhunath: one of the World’s most glorious Buddhist Stupas, painted on the four-sides of the spire bases are the never sleeping eyes of Lord Buddha. It lies 3 km west of the city and situated about 77m above the level of the Valley.

Pashupatinath Temple: a sacred temple of Lord Shiva Pashupatinath with two-tiered golden roof situated on the banks of the sacred river Bagmati. It is the centre of Annual Pilgrimage on the day of Maha Shivaratri. This temple is situated amidst the lush green natural setting, 5 Km. East of city.

Boudhanath: This colossal and ancient Buddhist Stupa, one of the biggest in the World, has the all seeing eyes of Lord Buddha. It is built on an octagonal base inset with prayer wheels at a distance of 8 Km. East of city.

Later, drive to Nagarkot. It is a popular tourist destination of Nepal. It is situated 32 KM east of Kathmandu at an altitude of 2,715 m above sea level. The panorama of the major peaks of the eastern Nepal Himalaya including Sagarmatha (Mt. Everest) can be seen from here. Nagarkot is famous for sunrise and sunset viewing. Check in to the hotel.

Day 03: Drive Nagarkot to Dhulikhel. On the way, visit Bhaktapur City.
Bhaktapur: Bhaktapur is also known as Bhadgaon, Bhaktapur is one of the three major cities of the Kathmandu valley, and we will visit its Durbar square which although larger than the one in Kathmandu, has fewer temples due to an earthquake in 1934. We also visit the Nyatapola Temple, which is not only the highest temple (98 ft) in the valley but also one of the best examples of traditional architecture. Bhaktapur, no doubt is the most distinctly medieval city than the other two cities Kathmandu and Patan. The main occupation of the locals here are weaving, pottery and farming. After the sightseeing we will be driving to Kathmandu for approximately 45 mins. Upon reaching Kathmandu check – in to hotel. Rest of the evening is free to relax.

Dhulikhel: Dhulikhel is the smallest municipality of Nepal in terms of population. It is situated only 30 Km east of Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal on the Araniko Highway in the lap of Greenwood and at an elevation of 1,550 meter above the mean sea level and along the ridge that separates the valley of Banepa and Panchkhal. It looks as if Dhulikhel is busy in conversation with the Himalayan range on the north with a beautiful smile. Dhulikhel is a small township, 30 kms from Kathmandu, along the Chinese-built road which leads to the border. Later, check in to the hotel.

Day 04: Visit Banepa & Panauti, then, drive to Kathmandu (32 km, 40 mins approx).
Banepa & Panauti: It is thriving Newari village with beautiful temples and interesting old houses. The driver passes through the beautiful countryside and lies 32KM Southeast of the capital Kathmandu and is located by the banks of the Roshi and Punyawati River. Later, drive back to Kathmandu. On reaching, check in to the village.
Overnight at Hotel.
Day 05: Visit Patan City, Tibetan Handicraft Center, Bungamati and Khokana.
Patan Durbar Square. This sister capital is an ancient city which is also known as Lalitpur . This city is full of Hindu temples and Buddhist monuments with bronze gateways, guardian deities and wonderful carvings. It is also known as the city of fine arts and for the superb craftsmanship of its artisans. On the way you will also visit Tibetan Handicraft center where you can observe the fine example of Tibetan crafts.

Bungamati & Khokhana: Bungamati is 10 km far from Kathmandu to south stands a small but graceful village which dwell hundreds of master wood carvers and sculpture producers. Visitors often encounter with smiling teeth and welcoming hand of artisans working in their house, offering their artifacts. Regardless of the rapid changes in lifestyle of the urban population and the globalized way of living, the Bungamati locals have remained untouched by modern waves and are living the life that they know best --simply rural -- from the past several centuries.

Similarly, Khokana is a thriving village nearby Bungamati encircles the two cities of Kathmandu and Patan. He village begins with a wide cobbled street and in the middle of the main street lies the temple of Sekali Mai. Khokanas local mother goddess. Khokana is famous for mustard oil, which is still made in traditional way and spun woolen yarn. After this sightseeing tour, back to the hotel.
Overnight at Hotel.

Day 06: Departure from Kathmandu to onward journey.
Breakfast in the hotel and rest of the day free. Your guide will pick you up from the hotel and will transfer you to the airport to catch your onward flight.
